The abdominal pain that caused Polly to call me home last night has persisted. Pablo woke up and told Jo Ann his tummy hurt. And his back hurts. He is putting his hand at exact opposite spots on his front and back. His temp is 101.4. When he got out of bed, he gasped–his legs hurt.
Asking a five-year-old to describe pain inside his body is tricky. He doesn't have the vocabulary to get past 'it hurts right here.' So, we are headed to the oncology clinic. They open at 7:30 a.m.–45 minutes. Once there, they will access his port, check his blood and vitals, and Dr. Mascarenhas, or one of his associates working under his direction, will check Pablo.
