Dreaming Of Le Tour de France
We're still dreaming about our day at Le Tour de France. In our dreams, we can feel the heat of the cobbles coming up through our shoes. And the gentle Paris sun beating down on us, like the little sister of the scorchalicious LA sun. In our dreams, Kraftwerk's 'Tour de France' provides the soundtrack. Wow, somebody slap me.
In the real world, Grady and I finally got around to pulling a still from our video of the Tour finish. That's Lance with the pink wheels in the center of the shot. That's his Damien Hirst-designed bike. The one covered in butterflies. If you have a spare million bucks, you could purchase it at the Livestrong STAGES auction in NYC on October 2. I'll be there. But I'm not bringing my wallet.
We're still blown away by how close we were to the riders. We are going to post a 90 second video clip of this later today. Even if you know nothing about cycling, you'll love it. The speed, the hum of the tires on the cobblestones, the beauty of the peloton's colors flying by like paint —it's all there, courtesy of a Flip HD camera and Grady's fantastic cinematography.
