Magic Words

Jo Ann sent me an email at 11:21 p.m. Although it had only 13 words, the third and fourth words were magical—shorthand between two parents whose lives are focused on the resurrection of their youngest son's bowel.

Here's what the email said:

pee pee
juicy fart
scooby
3 bites of jello
2 sips of water
xoxo

This means Pablo's surgery recovery is on the home stretch, and his body is returning to its normal state. It also means he is one step closer to the beginning of a new 24-week chemo regimen, with a couple weeks of daily radiation treatments. We should have more information tomorrow on both aspects of his new treatment protocol. We'll post the info as soon as we receive it.

But today.... Today should be the greatest day of the past two weeks—in terms of the highest amount of normalcy (laughing, lounging, walking, playing) and the lowest amount of drugs (farting=less tension and pain in the belly).

Can't wait to send you the pictures.

HI JoAnn, Jeff, Grady, & Pablo!
We just heard about the website last night, while visiting with Aunt Opal, Uncle Max, JoLynn, and Marshall. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all! Pablo is a precious boy, and we can't wait to meet him soon. Please give your mom our love, it's awesome that she's there to support you.

Love,
Dennis & Dianne Gary
